Ground Transportation from Hong Kong International Airport

Hong Kong International Airport is some way from the downtown areas, 34km west of Central, on the north coast of Lantau Island, but it's connected to the urban areas by excellent rail and road links. Click here to see the map of Hong Kong International Airport.
Hong Kong International Airport offers passengers a variety of transportation options:

Transportation from Hong Kong International Airport to MTR University Station

There are the following transportation options from Hong Kong International Airport to the MTR University Station on the East Rail Line, which is the closest station to both The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Science Park.

  • By Airbus A41 (the most economical option) (two steps)
    1. Take Airbus Route No. A41 with the destination to YU CHUI COURT at Airport (GTC) Bus Terminus. The service period from the airport is 06:00 - 24:00, and the service period to the airport from YU CHUI COURT is 05:30 - 23:30. Get off the bus at the 3rd station at SHA TIN CENTRAL BUS TERMINAL. It takes about 35 minutes and costs HK$22.3 (US$3) per person.
    2. Take a taxi to University Station. It takes about 10 minutes and costs approximately HK$60 (US$8), or Take Mass Transit Railway (MTR) from Sha Tin Station to University Station on the East Rail Line. It takes about 10 minutes and costs HK$4 (US$0.5).
  • By Taxi (the most convenient option): Take an NT taxi (green taxi), which is at a lower fare, to CUHK. It takes about 32 minutes and costs approximately HK$300 (US$40) including tolls, excluding levy for luggage and traffic.
  • By Airport Express and Taxi (two steps)
    1. Take Airport Express to Tsing Yi Station. It takes about 15 minutes and costs HK$60 or US$7.5.
    2. Take an NT taxi (green taxi), which is at a lower fare, from Tsing Yi to University Station. It costs approximately HK$130 or US$16.

Transportation to The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)

The Chinese University of Hong Kong is in walking distance from the MTR University Station. Getting out from Exit A of the MTR University Station, you will see the campus of the university.

To go to Esther Lee Building, the Conference Venue, you can follow the walking path in the conference map (Google Map). It takes about 7 mins (400m).

Transportation to Hong Kong Science Park

There are the following transportation options to Hong Kong Science Park from the MTR University Station, MTR Sha Tin Station, and Hyatt Regency Hotel.

  • By Bus Route No. 272K from MTR University Station: It takes about 5 minutes and costs HK$3.8 from the MTR University Station.
  • By Mini Bus Route No. 27 from MTR Sha Tin Station: It takes about 10 minutes and costs HK$6.6 from MTR Sha Tin Station (Pai Tau Street, near IKEA).
  • By Taxi (Green Taxi) from MTR University Station: It takes about 5 minutes and costs about HK$20 from MTR University Station.
  • By Shuttle Bus at Hyatt Regency Hong Kong Sha Tin
    • It takes about 5 minutes and it is free for the guest.
